Latest build | Howl’s Flying Castle

Howl’s Flying Castle – papercraft model, my build.
Model by: model from an official book
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) – not difficult, but a lot of parts
Time: 2-3 days

Two Howl’s Moving Castle papercraft models are very well known and are those prestige projects for any papercraft enthusiast. They are highly detailed and look very cool, you are guaranteed to impress every guest with them.

Models are actually very easy to build, thanks to careful design and detailed instructions. There is a lot of parts, sure, but nothing will give you trouble.

I’ve wanted to make it for a long time, as “Howl’s Moving Castle” has a special place in my heart, after moving to my own place – it’s time has come!
I’ve decided to do Flying version first, as it’s a smaller of the two and I want to scale down Walking Castle to the same height.

Latest build | Savoia S.21

Savoia S.21 – papercraft model, my build.
Model by: Hiro’s design
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
Time: ~4 hours
About: Porco Rosso airplane from Ghibli film.

This is my second build of Porco Rosso seaplane – first one was done many years ago (around 2007, I think) and it hasn’t survived my latest house move. But I love the model, so why not repeat it?

Model only has 2 pages, but there are no instructions – I’ve built it previously by looking on pics from the anime to determine what goes where. This time it was much easier, as I’ve extra 10 years of papercraft building experience now and, thankfully, past me decided to keep those instructive screenshots in the folder with the template!

Latest build | Gedo Senki Dragon

Gedo Senki Dragon – papercraft model, my build.
Model by: official book
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) (not hard, but there is a lot of parts)
Time: a few days

Model of Ghibli’s “Tales from Earthsea” Dragon comes from official papercraft book (scanned by some kind soul), so the construction is very thought-out with easy to follow instructions.
You can choose which version to build – flying or sitting dragon. I went with sitting version, as it’s much more compact.
