Jonathan Ferguson of Royal Armouries papertoy preview

Papercraft figure of Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of Firearms and Artillery, came about after I’ve spent a month watching Royal Armouries’ “What’s this Weapon?” series of videos, while doing other crafts. I think, seeing the animated pixel character is what prompted me – “Oh, I can do one too. Less pixel, more kawaii though…” In Russian there’s a saying that “kindness should have big fists”, so it makes total sense that “cute and kawaii” should come with an emotional support STG.

Marilyn Monroe in RGB cross stitch embroidery (front)

Thread / Нитки: ПНК им. Кирова, 4 strands
Size / Размер: 131 x 112 stitches.

Привлекла идея, сочетание поп-культуры и техники, а также то, что нужно было только 3 оттенка ниток.
Вышивка заняла почти 2 недели, по 2-3 часа по вечерам. Было очень прикольно видеть как портрет проступает из точек.

Мой первый опыт вышивки на черной канве – сперва было тяжело рассмотреть дырки, но потом приноровился.

Под катом – оборотная сторона с моими экспериментами.
