Zenphoto theme Paradigm - version 1.4

A new version of Paradigm theme for Zenphoto CMS was born out of my own needs and done amidst some really stressful times.
I’ve added a tags-related option way back in October (to combat duplicate content issues in search results) and recently found some time to add a few more features, to help this update qualify for a proper version number.

Most additions add even more flexibility for displaying your content without any need to edit theme files.

What a time to be alive.

Music:

The Divine Comedy – I’ll Take What I Can Get

Films & TV-Shows:

Papercraft:

Web & Tech:

Tumblr soft ban: disappeared from tags search

It took me some time after Tumblr restored my account after last year unsubstantiated termination to start posting there again – first ones were Oppenheimer papertoys and at the start of August I’ve decided to finally post my Tatort Saarbrücken papercraft there.

Everything went well for whole 6 DAYS, and then my posts disappeared from site-wide tag search, rendering them invisible to all but my followers.
I’ve heard about this before – my friend sosooley (fanartist with a substantial following) several times had this happen to her posts and she tried out all recipes that could be found from users dealing with the same issue. For her – fiddling with post tags seemed to do the trick.

I dutifully tried out all the advised actions to no avail and as a method of last resort – wrote to Tumblr support again, complaining of the issue.

During 20 days it took them to reply – I’ve tried to post new content again and tweak tags on previous one to get my posts to show, but nothing worked.

Then, today – I got this in my inbox and I’m very interested in the implications of this reply.

Fuck it. I'll do it myself.

After releasing “fix-it” version 1.2 for Zenphoto theme Paradigm, I’ve decided to finally add all the options I wished it had.

My focus was on flexibility and ease of customization, as now there is no need to edit theme files for the most sought-after edits like changing number of news items shown.
I’ve got rid of some inline styles that interfered with using custom CSS & updated mobile presentation.

Digging in meta-data fields revealed some digressions with permissions for robots (now all public pages and indexed and are controlled through robots.txt).

Paradigm (Zenphoto theme) preview

I’ve updated Paradigm Zenphoto theme to version 1.2, now it can be used with Zenphoto 1.6.

This version retains original design and allows to easily add custom CSS file.
I use this theme with custom CSS at Action Figure Collector.

Since I’ve updated this theme to fix usage of depreciated functions and added several new features, I’ve decided to make it available to others.
